Obituary of Mr. Tibbs
Tibbs you were my best friend, soulmate, and companion for 18 years. You are pure LOVE. You were kind, stoic, and patient. You never harmed a living thing. You taught me how to truly love and be loved.
You and I ran for hours and hours in the woods; your energy knew no bounds. But then you could also be still and contemplative when we sat on a bench or rock resting. You also loved your tennis balls so much. You would chase after them until you collapsed.
In every picture I see of you, you always have a smile. You made so many people smile when you went on walks or when you came to work with me. You always looked people in the eye and let others pet you. You held no grudges. You respected all creatures great and small. You never picked a fight or fought back. You knew who you were and didn’t have to prove a thing.
You were always ready to go for a car ride; it did not matter where because you loved the feel of the wind in your beautiful fur. You loved swimming, but only to retrieve balls. When we swam with others you would let little kids hang on to your back as you paddled to shore with ball in mouth. You were so kind and patient with little children, they all wanted to touch you.
Your energy for life knew no bounds. You were game for anything, whether it was Sledding downhill in the snow, playing a game of basketball, going on boat ride down a river, running, walking, playing catch, dancing in a Conga line, or just enjoying an ice cream cone, you went after life with gusto.
You were always there for me, especially when my father died and I needed you the most. You helped me heal. I promised I would be there for you as well, and I thank God that I was able to honor my promise. My heart aches and misses you like crazy my little doodlebug; my golden haired boy the color of wheat.
